1. About Us

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our website and the services provided by WeSalvage ("WeSalvage", "we", "us", "our"), a family-run business registered in England and Wales. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

2. Services

WeSalvage provides the following services for businesses in the United Kingdom:

  • IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) — collection, processing, and disposal of IT equipment
  • Certified data destruction — software wipe (using Blancco) and/or physical destruction of storage media
  • WEEE collection and recycling — collection of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
  • Equipment refurbishment and value recovery
  • Compliance documentation (Certificates of Recycling, data destruction certificates, WEEE transfer notes)

All services are subject to a formal service agreement agreed prior to collection. These Terms apply in the absence of a separate written agreement.

3. Eligibility and Access

Our services are available to business customers (B2B) operating in the United Kingdom. By requesting a service, you confirm that:

  • You are acting on behalf of a business or organisation
  • You have authority to authorise the disposal of the equipment
  • The equipment is legally owned by or in the custody of your organisation
  • You are not knowingly disposing of equipment that is subject to legal proceedings, active investigation, or retention obligations

4. Free Collection

Free collection is available for qualifying business loads at WeSalvage's discretion. Eligibility is based on the type and quantity of equipment. We reserve the right to decline a collection request or to charge a collection fee where the load does not meet minimum thresholds or requires specialist handling.

The client is responsible for ensuring that equipment is accessible, safely packaged where required, and ready for loading at the agreed collection time. Failed collections due to inaccessibility or cancellation within 24 hours may incur a call-out charge.

5. Data Destruction

WeSalvage uses Blancco — the industry-leading, internationally certified data erasure software — to wipe storage devices to NIST 800-88 and HMG IA Standard 5 standards. Physical destruction (shredding) is also available.

  • A Certificate of Data Destruction is issued for each device processed
  • Data destruction is carried out by trained personnel under secure conditions
  • The client is responsible for ensuring all relevant data has been identified and that they have authority to authorise its destruction
  • WeSalvage accepts no liability for any residual data remaining on devices that were not disclosed or were otherwise not processed through our standard data destruction workflow

Where physical destruction is agreed, the original device will be rendered unusable and cannot be returned.

6. WEEE Compliance

WeSalvage operates in compliance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013 (as amended). By engaging our services, the client transfers their WEEE producer/holder obligations in respect of the collected items to WeSalvage at the point of collection, subject to a completed WEEE transfer note.

The client must not knowingly present counterfeit, fraudulently obtained, or illegally held equipment for disposal.

7. Refurbishment and Resale

Where equipment is assessed as suitable for refurbishment and resale, WeSalvage may offer a value recovery payment to the client. Any such payment is subject to inspection and agreed in writing prior to collection. No payment is owed until a formal value recovery agreement has been signed.

All data is wiped prior to any equipment being resold or donated.

8. Liability

WeSalvage will exercise reasonable care in handling all equipment from the point of collection. Our liability is limited as follows:

  • We are not liable for any data loss arising from equipment that was presented for disposal
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the value of the services provided under the relevant job
  • We exclude all liability for indirect, consequential, or economic loss
  • Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law

9. Certificates and Documentation

WeSalvage will issue a Certificate of Recycling and/or Certificate of Data Destruction upon completion of each job. These documents are provided in good faith and accurately reflect the processing carried out. They should be retained by the client for compliance and audit purposes.

10. Website Use

All content on wesalvage.co.uk is for general information purposes only. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of the content. We reserve the right to modify or withdraw services without notice.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logo, and design — is the intellectual property of WeSalvage unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce or republish any content without our written permission.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect changes. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
